Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal information Delta Engineering Services Limited collects through this website, why we use it, who we share it with and the rights you have over it.

Who we are

Delta Engineering Services Limited is the controller of the personal information described here. We are a company registered in England and Wales, number 17133445, and our registered office is Unit 3, Grove House, Booth Street, Haslingden, Rossendale, BB4 5JA.

To ask anything about this notice or your information, email info@deltaes.co.uk or call 01706 399037.

What we collect and why

When you send an enquiry

The enquiry form asks for your name, email address and message, and, if you choose to give them, your company, phone number, the kind of work and where it is. We use these details to answer your enquiry and to prepare a quotation.

Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us about our work. Where you ask us to quote, it is also to take steps you have asked for before entering into a contract.

If you become a customer

We use the contact details of the people we work with to carry out, deliver and invoice the work, and we keep the records that tax and company law require. Our lawful bases are the contract and our legal obligations.

When you download a document

Downloading a certificate, policy or the prequalification pack does not ask for any personal information.

When you visit the website

Like most websites, our server keeps a short-term record of each request: the IP address, the browser and device type, the page asked for and the time. We use it only to keep the website secure and working, which is our legitimate interest.

The map on the Contact page is provided by Google. It only loads if you accept it in the cookie banner, and Google then receives your IP address and may set cookies. The cookie policy explains more, and you can change your choice there at any time.

We do not use your information for marketing, we never sell it, and we do not make automated decisions about you.

Who we share it with

We only share your information with the organisations that help us run the website and the business, and only for that purpose:

  • W Web Design, which hosts and maintains this website on servers in the UK;
  • Amazon Web Services, whose email service (Amazon SES, in Ireland) delivers the enquiries sent through the website to our inbox;
  • our email provider, which hosts our mailboxes;
  • Google, for the map on the Contact page, and only if you have accepted it;
  • our accountants, insurers and professional advisers, when they need it to do their work for us.

We will also share information where the law requires it, for example with HMRC or the police.

Information sent outside the UK

The website is hosted in the UK. Amazon SES processes email in the European Union, which the UK recognises as giving an adequate level of protection. Google may process information in the United States, under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to two years from our last contact, then deleted.
  • Customer and supplier records: six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as tax law requires.
  • Server records of visits: a short period, for security, then deleted automatically.
  • Your cookie choice: kept in your own browser for up to a year, or until you change it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your information, where we no longer need to keep it;
  • restrict how we use it, or stop using it where we rely on our legitimate interests;
  • send information you gave us to you or another organisation in a common format.

Where we rely on your consent, such as for the map, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email info@deltaes.co.uk. There is no charge, and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Keeping it safe

The website is served over an encrypted connection, enquiries are sent only to our own inbox, and access to the website’s administration is limited to the people who maintain it.
